The Way Back (2010) is based on a memoir titled The Long Walk by Slawomir Rawicz, which depicted his escape from a Siberian gulag and subsequent 4000 mile walk to freedom in India. The shooting of this movie was held in Bulgaria, Morocco, and India. In this film a teenage boy who comes into his own over the course of one summer through an unlikely friendship with the man in charge of a local water park. Then the boy is able to reconnect with his mom and find the courage to stand up to his bullying stepfather.
